Ramadan Marketing UAE and Saudi Arabia: The 2027 Planning Playbook

Updated for 2026. By Rachel Seif, CEO, TheBuzihub.

Ramadan marketing for UAE and Saudi audiences is the work of timing campaigns, offers and creator content to the holy month and Eid al-Fitr, when many shoppers in both markets trade impulse buys for planned lists. For 2027 the UAE's Astronomy Centre expects the month to begin on or around 8 February, subject to moon sighting, so most of the decisions that matter fall between November and January.

This playbook works back from that date. It covers the calendar, the differences a 2026 shopper survey found between the two markets, and the offer and creator choices that follow from them. It is not a channel price list and not a full Gulf retail calendar.

TheBuzihub is a growth consultancy based in Dubai that plans paid media programmes across the GCC, along with social and lifecycle marketing, for brands selling in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. If you want the wider picture first, start with full-service marketing programmes run from Dubai.

When Ramadan and Eid fall in 2027, and why the dates move

The National reported in September 2026 that the UAE's Astronomy Centre projects Ramadan 2027 to begin on 8 February and to last either 29 or 30 days. Those are projections. The UAE's moon-sighting committee looks for the crescent on the 29th of each Islamic month and confirms the start and end from that.

MilestoneExpected in the UAEWhat it means for a campaign
First day of Ramadan8 February 2027Launch creative approved and loaded before this date
Last day of Ramadan8 or 9 March 2027The final-week push runs on one of two possible end dates
Eid al-Fitr holiday, if Ramadan lasts 29 days9 to 11 March 2027Eid assets switch on a day earlier
Eid al-Fitr holiday, if Ramadan lasts 30 days9 to 12 March 2027 (Eid on 10 March)A longer break, and a longer Eid window to plan for

The table is the UAE projection only. Treat Saudi dates as unconfirmed until the Kingdom's official announcement, and wait for it before fixing Saudi launch times. For everything else about selling into the Kingdom, see the Saudi market and channel overview.

The practical rule is to plan for a one-day shift in both directions. Schedule the switch from Ramadan to Eid creative as a manual go-live, not a fixed date, and keep both versions approved and loaded.

How shoppers change during the month, and where the UAE and KSA differ

Recent evidence comes from a survey run in January 2026 by ArabyAds and Ipsos across both markets. In the ArabyAds and Ipsos Ramadan Consumption Shifts report, 3 in 5 shoppers across the UAE and KSA said their shopping behaviour changes during Ramadan.

The headline is the same in both markets: more planning and less impulse. The detail is where the two differ, and it is the detail that should shape an offer and a creator brief.

Survey finding (January 2026)UAEKSA

Top trigger for buying what an influencer recommendsA real demo of the product in use (40%)A strong discount or exclusive offer (49%)
Second triggerA strong discount or exclusive offer (36%)A real demo of the product in use (27%)

Three readings follow directly from the numbers. Respondents in both markets weigh value equally. UAE respondents were more open to trying a new brand. And the thing that turns a creator post into a sale differs: proof of use in the UAE, a strong offer in the Kingdom.

That last split is easy to lose when one brief covers both markets. One creator script for both markets is cheaper to produce, but on these figures it leads with the wrong argument in one of them. Creator partnerships and #ad disclosure are covered on their own page.

The survey also shows what respondents do after seeing creator content. Searching for the product on a retailer app or website came first in the UAE (22%), with 18% in the KSA. Buying straight away through the creator's link or code was lower, at 13% and 10%.

So a creator post during Ramadan starts a search more often than it closes a sale. Your product pages, retail listings and social media management and content calendars have to be ready for the search that follows.

Working back from 8 February: a planning timeline

The Ipsos report sets two anchors. Planning-focused content such as guides, planners and gift lists should launch 4 to 6 weeks before Ramadan. Objectives, budget allocation by channel and retail and supply-chain readiness should be settled about 4 weeks out.

Counted back from an expected 8 February start, that gives the dates below. The earlier rows are our own planning suggestion, built so that the Ipsos milestones can actually be met.

Weeks before RamadanAroundDecision
1216 November 2026Agree objectives per market and the offer type for each (our suggestion)
814 December 2026Creator shortlist, production booked, product feeds and landing pages scoped (our suggestion)
628 December 2026Planning content goes live: guides, gift lists, checklists (Ipsos: 4 to 6 weeks out)
411 January 2027Budget allocated by channel, stock and retail partners confirmed, hero assets and creator briefs scheduled (Ipsos)
1 to 2Late January 2027Soft launch to test offers and creative (an Ipsos quick-win tip; the timing is our suggestion)
08 February 2027Ramadan creative live, Eid creative approved and waiting

Budget belongs in the 4-week row, not the 12-week one, because the offer decides how much each channel has to carry. Sizing a Google Ads budget explains how to set that number for search.

Production is the row most exposed to delay. Video shoots, product photography and creator content all have to be booked before the 4-week row, so start them early. Video, copy and design production for campaigns is worth planning as its own workstream.

Offer, creative and creator decisions for the month and for Eid

Start with the offer, because the survey says it carries different weight in each market. The Ipsos recommendations are specific: in the UAE, prioritise demos and proof; in the KSA, lead with exclusive offers and discounts.

The same report gives a message order that works in both markets: the need, then the product, then the benefit. It also advises framing a discount as something that makes a better experience possible, such as hosting the family or giving a better gift, rather than as saving money alone.

Bundles over single products

Ipsos recommends bundling products into family kits or time-saving packs. A bundle answers a planned list better than a single product, and it gives a creator something concrete to demonstrate in the UAE or to discount in the Kingdom.

Which categories creators actually move

Asked what they buy on an influencer's recommendation, UAE respondents put personal care first (58%), ahead of Eid fashion and accessories and of gifts and Eidiya (46% each). In the KSA, personal care and Eid fashion and accessories tied at the top (64% each), with gifts and Eidiya next (59%).

Brief creators by category, not by follower count. Ipsos also suggests using several trusted creators in the same niche rather than relying on one, so the recommendation reads as advice and not as a single paid post.

The hand-over to Eid

The end of Ramadan and the Eid holiday call for different messages. Ramadan messaging is about planning, hosting and family routine. Eid shifts the weight to fashion, gifts and Eidiya, which are among the categories the survey ranks highest.

Prepare the Eid set at the same time as the Ramadan set, so the switch is a scheduling task and not a production one. For sector-specific detail:

Running the month: channels, pacing and the post-Eid review

Once the month starts, the job changes from planning to pacing. Two things deserve daily attention: whether stock and retail listings keep up with demand, and whether spend is going to the moments that convert.

Ipsos stresses the first point directly: make sure the product is widely available and in stock before the campaign launches, because interest without access loses the sale. Check this before you raise any budget.

For the second, set the cost-per-acquisition ceiling before launch and move money between channels against it, not against impressions. Budget pacing and target-CPA bidding are covered on the performance marketing page.

Messaging channels can take in-month service traffic such as order questions, delivery updates and Eid gift orders. WhatsApp broadcast and catalogue programmes cover the UAE side. For Saudi customers, check which Saudi message belongs on WhatsApp, RCS or SMS before the first broadcast.

What to measure, and when

Because creator content tends to start a search rather than close a sale, judging it only on link and code sales will undercount it. Ipsos recommends tracking branded search volume, assisted conversions and site traffic as well.

After Eid, run the review the report lays out: measure against consideration metrics, review sales by category and region, collect feedback from retail partners and creators, and write down what to change for 2028. The KPI to judge each channel by helps decide which number each channel answers to.

Ramadan Campaign FAQ for the UAE and Saudi Arabia

When does Ramadan 2027 start in the UAE?

The UAE's Astronomy Centre expects Ramadan 2027 to begin on 8 February, according to a September 2026 report in The National. The month will last 29 or 30 days, so it ends on 8 or 9 March. The date is a projection: the UAE's moon-sighting committee confirms the actual start once the crescent is observed, so plan for a possible one-day shift.

Does Saudi Arabia announce Ramadan and Eid on the same day as the UAE?

Do not assume so. The dates on this page are the UAE Astronomy Centre's projection, and the UAE's moon-sighting committee confirms them for the UAE. Treat the Saudi start and Eid as unconfirmed until the Kingdom's official announcement. For campaigns running in both markets, keep launch and Eid creative ready to go live on either day, and switch Saudi activity on only after that announcement.

How far ahead should a brand plan a Ramadan campaign?

Work back from the expected start. The ArabyAds and Ipsos report puts planning content 4 to 6 weeks before Ramadan, and budget, objectives and stock checks about 4 weeks out. For an 8 February 2027 start, that means late December and around 11 January. We suggest settling offer and creator decisions earlier, by mid-November, so those milestones can be met.

Do UAE and Saudi shoppers respond to the same Ramadan offers?

Not entirely, on the 2026 survey evidence. Value matters equally, with 32% in each market focusing more on discounts and bulk buying. The difference is what converts creator content: a real product demo was the top trigger in the UAE at 40%, while a strong discount or exclusive offer led in the KSA at 49%. Brief each market separately.

Should a Ramadan campaign keep running into Eid al-Fitr?

Yes, but with a different message. Ramadan creative centres on planning, hosting and family routine, while Eid moves towards fashion, gifts and Eidiya, which survey respondents in both markets ranked among the categories where creator recommendations led to purchases. Prepare the Eid set alongside the Ramadan one and switch it manually once the date is confirmed.

Do influencer partnerships work for Ramadan campaigns in the Gulf?

In the 2026 survey, 70% of UAE and 65% of KSA shoppers said an influencer recommendation can convince them to buy during Ramadan. More respondents, though, searched for, saved or shared the product than bought it through the creator's link straight away. Creator work pays off when product pages and stock are ready for the search that follows the post.

How do you measure whether a Ramadan campaign worked?

Measure against the objective set before launch, not against last-click sales alone. The Ipsos report suggests tracking branded search volume, assisted conversions and site traffic alongside direct sales, then reviewing results by category and region after Eid. Record what to change while it is fresh, so the 2028 plan starts from evidence rather than memory.
